About Me

As the title says, I’m a newb sysadmin. I spend my days figuring out GNU/Linux issues and supporting a 25-desktop environment. About 60 percent of those workstations are Fedora Core 3 or 5, the rest are Windows XP Pro with one Mac OSX (Tiger, I think).

My homelife is largely taken up by my wonderful 17-month-old daughter, Zoe. After she goes to sleep, my wife and I get to spend some time together, but mostly spend it side-by-side on our computers. She does web design and SEO work.

I enjoy cooking and am the cook in our family, and a vegetarian. When we go out to eat, my wife eats meat. Otherwise she is subject to my whims.

I greatly enjoy watching baseball. I have even stopped on walks by little league parks to watch kids play. My favorite team is the Oakland A’s. I now live in San Antonio, TX, so it is a rare chance that I get to watch them.

I’ll write more about me later, but now it is time to go grocery shopping with my daughter–our weekly ritual.
